  • BACK IN DECEMBER 1965...

    The summer of 1965 saw Koichi Ose tour Australia with his hugely popular Samurai stage show. Thousands of children flocked to greet the Japanese star, waving their Samurai swap-cards (see below) and dodgy tin-can shuriken.

    We've had a flood of emails from nostalgic Samurai fans, with a few having dug deep into their archives to unearth press-clippings, swap cards and memorabilia. Below we have Koichi Ose signing an autograph for one lucky lil' ninja (thanks to Greg Newman www.newmedia.com.au). I wonder what their exchange was??

  • BASTARDY WINS SPECIAL JURY PRIZE AT FIFO!

    News just in is that Bastardy has picked up the Prix Special Du Jury at the Pacific International Documentary Film Festival (Festival International du Film Documentaire Oceanien -  FIFO) which was held in Tahiti last week. There's also an interview with Amiel on the FIFO site (translated). Congratulations, Amiel!

    Bastardy screens on ABC TV, 9:30pm Thursday March 11.
