WHILE YOU'RE AT WAICON...
16 Jan 2012
Apart from the usual anime shenanigans at this year's Waicon festival, there will also be some panels relating to live-action Japanese culture and entertainment. One such panel will be taking place at midday on Saturday January 28 - a focus on the The Samurai and examining the cultural impact of the first Japanese TV program ever to air in Australia. Also covered will be The Phantom Agents, the 'other' cult Japanese TV program loved by Australians in the 1960's and written by the legendary Tatsuo Yoshida (founder of the Tatsunoko Production Company and creator of Speed Racer, Casshern Sins, Battle of the Planets and all-round 70's anime pioneer).
So if the mad rush of a Saturday morning in a crammed convention-hall isn't your thing, or if you've been poked by Naturo kunai one too many times...check this out!
