Time for some acquisition announcements. First up, ARIA: The Animation..
Set in the early 24th Century (that's a few hundred years from now) against the backdrop of the city of Neo Venezia on the planet Mars. No longer the barren red planet, Mars has been flooded, inhabited and is something of a tourist hub for those looking for rest, relaxation and a gondola ride - the primary mode of travel in Neo Venezia. The Undines are professional gondoliers, tour guides for the people passing through. Akari Mizunashi is an Undine in training and this is a piece of her story.
ARIA: The Animation is total relaxation in an aquatic-utopian sci-fi kinda way! The complete 13 episode set will be released in April and pre-orders are open right now.

OOPS-AGI DROP

Just a heads-up for pre-ordering customers - this one will be shipping today as we received stock late from our replicators. It turns out that they forgot to bung on the slipcases, shrink-wrapped the lot, packed into boxes, courier booked, punch-cards clocked, dinner on the table...and then noticed a pallet of our deluxe packaging in the corner of their warehouse.
Not to fear: they've managed to rectify the situation at the cost of a few days production time, which means that you'll find our exclusive Usagi Drop DVD (another world-first feather in our caps) in stores by the weekend. If it's not on the shelf by Sunday, hassle the staff at your regular anime haunt*

Heads up for Higurashi fans - the release date for Part 1 of Higurashi no Naku Koroni Kai has been pushed to May. I know, I know, I know, but please bear with us. After so many years languishing in limbo a couple of months isn't too much to ask, right? We want to do this well, so we need that little bit more time to pull this one across the finish line. We'll have it up for pre-order over the coming weeks, so sit tight.
In other news: Usagi Drop will be here next week, the Casshern Sins Blu-ray box-set just arrived and it's damn hot here at the office. Feel free to send me cold drinks, icy poles (that's a "popsicle" for US readers) and early morning fog from last winter. Address is at the bottom of the page...
